I have offered counseling to couples, families, groups, and individuals of all ages since 1992. Most of my clients are successful individuals or couples who are choosing to better their relationships and lives. As for couples, my counseling often assists them in alleviating the most common problems, such as concerns about intimacy, money, children, and communication. Likewise, my work with families attends to concerns about parenting, collaborating with schools, divorce, etc. In general, research-based findings support all of my therapeutic methods.
In addition to counseling, I offer coaching to people who want specific recommendations, suggestions, directives, skills, etc., in particular contexts. Examples of these services include, but are not limited to, the following: executive/professional/life coaching, guiding and educating parents, offering legal-related advocacy (including collaborative law proceedings), etc.
My previous and current clients/coachees have achieved concrete and measurable results, including making desired life changes, increasing career success, healthy marriage preservation, cessation of abusive family patterns, weight loss exceeding 150 pounds, grade/conduct improvement, etc. Overall, I focus on the importance of prevention, peoples’ strengths (rather than pathology), their relationships, their mind/body/spirit health, and how such foci promote beneficial and long-lasting outcomes.
In that regard, I actively stay abreast of current research and conduct research of my own. I have researched and published on topics (see my C.V. on the "Helpful Forms" page) such as desired psychotherapeutic outcomes, as well as the synergy between spirituality (as distinct from religion) and psychotherapy. From such research experiences, I have had the privilege of presenting at local, state, and national conferences.
Finally, I serve others as a Supervisor and Spiritual Officiant.
